Save the date for the LGBT Elder Housing Services Virtual Symposium, co-hosted by Openhouse and SAGE, on Thursday, November 4th and Friday, November 5th. Clinicians, housing providers, LGBTQ and aging advocates, and service providers will come together to discuss the housing services formulas necessary to help our aging LGBTQ+ population!
Secure, stable, and affordable housing is a necessary component of any aging experience, and every year a new class of LGBTQ+ older adults enter into senior-hood. However, housing for LGBTQ+ seniors is one of several barriers threatening their ability to age successfully. Often, developers and organizations address this issue by offering new housing facilities, centering LGBTQ+ senior placement. But housing is only one part of a multifaceted effort to provide LGBTQ+ older adults with the opportunity to thrive.
Healthy Aging Begins at Home: Program
The two-day Openhouse + SAGE symposium event will include:

- Community members’ stories, highlighting the immense impact Openhouse and SAGE have had on their very own communities
- Facilitated workshop discussions to provide audience members an opportunity to engage with the speakers on their topics of expertise.
